Studio Privacy The Tell

The Tell privacy policy

The Tell collects no data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking in it, and it contacts no server operated by Stack Trace Studios. Your progress stays on your device, and optional support purchases go through Apple's system services.

What the studio collects

The Tell does not send drill answers, streaks, mastery, Lab choices, settings or anything else to Stack Trace Studios. The studio has no app user database and cannot see how you use the app. If you choose to email support, the studio receives the email address, message and attachments you send. Visiting this policy also gives the website host the ordinary request data needed to deliver and secure the page.

What stays on your device

The Tell stores your drill history, daily streak, current difficulty tier, per-technique mastery, an onboarding flag and, if you make an optional support purchase, the tier you reached, locally on your iPhone or iPad in the app's own storage. There is no export and no sync. Local app data may be included in an encrypted device or iCloud backup according to your Apple backup settings. Deleting the app removes its progress, although a separate device backup can retain its copy until you delete or replace that backup.

Network and Apple system services

Nothing in the app requires a network connection: all techniques, countermeasures, drills and Archive artifacts ship inside the app. StoreKit can contact Apple to load support-purchase product information and to purchase or verify an optional support purchase. A source link on an Archive artifact opens the holding institution's website only when you choose to tap it. The Tell has no developer-operated endpoint and never uploads anything to Stack Trace Studios.

Third parties

The app embeds no advertising, analytics, attribution or crash-reporting SDK. Apple processes optional support purchases under its own terms; Stack Trace Studios receives aggregate App Store sales reporting, not anything about your use of the app. Cloudflare delivers this website, and Google processes email sent to the published support address. Stack Trace Studios does not sell or use app data for advertising or tracking.

Children

The Tell is intended for high-school age and up and is not directed to children under 13. It creates no accounts and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Your progress is on your device and under your control; deleting the app removes it. Stack Trace Studios cannot access, correct or export data stored only on your device. For a support email or other information you voluntarily send to the studio, you may ask what is still held or request deletion, subject to applicable legal obligations. Requests can be sent to the contact address below.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version is published here with a new date. Material changes that affect what is collected will also be noted in the app's release notes.
