Cycle Cipher support
Answers to the questions that come in most often. If yours is not here, email us. The developer who built the app reads every message.
Is Cycle Cipher free?
Yes. The entire app is free to download and use on iPhone, iPad and Android. There is no subscription, paywall, paid tier or feature unlock.
What do the optional tips do?
Tips support continued development but unlock nothing and do not change how the app works. In the U.S., the four tips cost $0.99, $1.99, $2.99 and $5.99 on both the App Store and Google Play; Apple and Google Play show local prices in other countries. Tips are repeatable consumable in-app purchases. Apple processes them on iPhone and iPad, and Google Play processes them on Android. They are not charitable donations.
Why did the app ask whether I wanted to leave a tip?
After a few launches, Cycle Cipher may show one optional invitation. Dismiss it to continue using every feature for free. The invitation is not a gate, and the tip options remain available later in Settings if you choose to use them.
Does Cycle Cipher work without an internet connection?
Yes. Logging, predictions, the app lock, import and export work offline. On iPhone and iPad, StoreKit can contact Apple to load or process optional tips. On Android, Cycle Cipher has no internet permission, and the Google Play Store app handles tips and ratings. Rating, review, website, privacy and support actions open Apple, Google Play or your browser for those functions alone. Cycle Cipher sends no health data to Stack Trace Studios.
How do I move my data to a new phone?
Use Settings to create an encrypted JSON export, then import that file on the new device; keep the passphrase somewhere safe because the studio cannot recover it. iPhone, iPad and Android use the same export format, so the same file also moves your records between them. An encrypted iPhone or iCloud device backup may also carry the iPhone app's data according to your Apple backup settings. Android backup and device-to-device transfer never include Cycle Cipher's data, so on Android you move it with an export.
How do I request a refund for a tip?
On iPhone and iPad, Apple processes the tips and controls refunds: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, and choose the purchase. Stack Trace Studios cannot issue an App Store refund. On Android, Google Play processes the tips: within 48 hours of a purchase, you can request a refund from Google Play; after 48 hours, email the studio with the order number from your Google Play receipt.
Reporting a bug
Email OmarAppSupport@gmail.com with your device model, your iOS or Android version, and what you were doing when it happened. Attach a screenshot if you can. The app has no crash-reporting SDK. Apple passes on crash logs from iPhone and iPad users who share diagnostics with developers, and Google Play passes on crash reports from Android users who share usage and diagnostics data. Beyond that, the studio sees nothing you do not send.
Refunds
The app download is free. On iPhone and iPad, Apple processes the tips and controls any refund: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, and choose the tip. The studio cannot issue an App Store refund. On Android, Google Play processes the tips. Within 48 hours of the purchase, you can request a refund from Google Play. After 48 hours, email the studio with the order number from your Google Play receipt.
Accessibility
On iPhone and iPad, the app supports Dynamic Type, VoiceOver and Reduce Motion. On Android, the app follows the system font size and display size settings, and TalkBack reads its screens. If you cannot read or reach something with assistive technology, report it as a bug. Name the screen and the setting you were using, and the studio will fix it.
