Unredacted is a four-year American history curriculum: 100 lessons from Native North America before 1492 to the drone war, taught in the order a two-semester survey teaches it. It is a complete course, and it does not skip the crimes.
The standard is documentation. Every episode here is one the record establishes, and each case file lists what it rests on: the Church Committee reports, declassified FRUS volumes, the National Security Archive, court records, congressional testimony. Where historians still disagree, the lesson says so and gives the competing readings. Where a familiar story turns out to be wrong, the lesson corrects it, including when the correction is inconvenient.
- 60 profiles: presidents, organisers, generals, enslaved people who left records, and the officials who signed the orders.
- 18 documented episodes, each one listing the record it rests on.

What you get
100 lessons, four years
A full degree-shaped sequence, 15 to 25 minutes a lesson, in the order the subject is actually taught.
On-device narration
Listen instead of read. Narration uses the system speech synthesizer, so no audio ever leaves the phone.
Cross-linked glossary
Hundreds of terms, each linked back to the lessons that use it and forward to the ones that build on it.
Case files
18 landmark studies, experiments or episodes reconstructed in full, each listing the record it rests on.
Spaced repetition
The scheduler brings back the terms you keep forgetting, on the interval that makes them stick.

FAQ
How much is free?
The first ten lessons. One purchase of $9.99 unlocks the remaining ninety and everything else, permanently, with Family Sharing enabled.
Does it need an internet connection?
No. The app makes no network connections of any kind. Every lesson, profile, glossary entry, quiz and case study is bundled in the download, which is why the download is large.
Is this accredited? Do I get credit?
No. It is a self-study course written to the level of a university survey sequence. It carries no accreditation and grants no credit.
Where do the numbers come from?
Every effect size, sample size and date in a lesson is stated so it can be checked. Case files list the specific record they rest on. Where a familiar textbook figure is wrong, the lesson gives the real one and explains why it moved.
How do I move my progress to a new phone?
Progress, bookmarks and notes are stored on-device and are included in an encrypted iPhone or iCloud device backup. Restoring that backup onto the new phone brings them across. There is no account-based sync.
